I fired my popular attorney in less than 7 minutes

A few years ago, I was involved in a real estate transaction. This transaction meant so much to the client I was representing. Being a dedicated and committed real estate sourcing expert I brought my team onboard independent of the client’s team and bill. To deliver the best result on a client’s goal means the world to me.

In the midst of the fact-finding process, my attorney placed a call through to me to express dissatisfaction over a line of the process that it seems I did not adhere to. He apparently understood the process differently. I apologized all the same but it turned out that the apology would not be sufficient. My popular attorney got too comfortable during the conversation and took the matter overboard.

The football game is one of the oldest sports in the world and the aim of the game is for one team to score more goals than the opponent in a 90 minute playing time frame. Some set of rules and process well known to all stakeholders have been put in place for fair play and clear distinction of the winning team. There is also the substitute bench that equally has rules and process. It is a serious business.

While still conversing over the phone with my popular attorney, I did a quick review and made a decision.

What will it cost this project if my popular attorney does not consult for us henceforth? The cost was not so much.

Would we find a replacement soon? Yes.

Could we find a replacement who would deliver? Yes

And so like Donald Trump I said: “You are fired”. It came as a shock to my popular attorney and the rest of the team.

I could already see what my popular attorney’s disposition would cost the client’s project now and in the near future. We could not afford that cost nor allow a client to be let down irrespective of my popular attorney’s pedigree.

Did we achieve the client’s goal without my popular attorney? Yes, we did ethically and in record time.

You see, in real estate investing, you do not need to be an expert in everything but you must be expert in setting boundaries, expectations, rules and process. You must also be willing to play by the rules. At best, find an expert to assist you. I enjoy using my imaginative yet investigative logical strength as an expert to source for best-fit property that meets a client’s clearly defined real estate investment goal.

Again do not let anyone or anything hold you to ransom while aiming at your investment goal. If by chance you come across a dedicated expert who will do everything ethically appropriate to ensure you achieve your goal, hold such expert tight.

The most important quality for an investor is temperament, not intellect… You need a temperament that neither derives great pleasure from being with the crowd or against the crowd. – Warren Buffett

To the greatest extent, you as the investor is more at risk than any other person in the process of investing. Would it not be profitable to you when you have a dedicated expert? The word dedicated means believing that something is very important and giving a lot of time and energy to it.

As a dedicated expert, I help you achieve your investment goal effectively. Talk to us now.

    Excellent line of thought there.
In Society only results matter, ability to logically deliver within confines of ethical engagement is key.
